Behind the Lens
Hi there! I'm Heather Murdock, the photographer behind Heather Lee Photographs. I’ve always had a passion for the art of photography… learning, appreciating, and shooting all that I can. After a range of other career paths, it feels amazing to turn my passion for photography into a profession.
I’ve taken photography courses, studied books, and visited exhibitions, but most of my knowledge comes from lots and lots of shooting, including following my three little ones around. There will definitely not be a shortage of photos to look back on when they are older. But that’s what it’s all about, right, capturing those moments in life, helping people remember the past, and allowing them to keep those memories alive.
As for my style, I wouldn’t say I really have a specific one. I love clean, creative, interesting, yet authentic, beautiful photographs. I prefer location shoots where I can use natural lighting to best capture the mood and feel in the photo. In post, I try not to over edit, but rather to produce the best image possible. I am a bit of a perfectionist and tend to obsess a little, but that’s all good for the client.
Now that you know a little more about me, I’ll let you know what I am here to do for you. I will meet you at any location (I have many ideas if you need them) to shoot family portraits, children, newborn, maternity or any other subjects you’d like. I also do engagement, graduation, wedding, and any and all special events. Many of my clients like to have me at their party or event so that they can focus on enjoying time with friends and loved ones, rather than trying to take photographs, most of which they will not be in.
